Karen is a marriage and family therapist who graduated from Walden University with a Master’s Degree in Marriage, Couple and Family Counseling. Karen offers individual therapy, couples/marriage therapy, family therapy, and group therapy; she is also trained to provided therapy within the parameters of Trauma Focused – Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT). Karen provides services to children, adolescents, and adults; but, she is passionate about working with adolescents and from being Caribbean-American herself, she is also passionate about working with teens and families struggling with Caribbean-American/Caribbean-Immigrant issues/concerns. Karen’s therapeutic style possesses systemic undertones with consideration for the client’s background - e.g. family of origin, cultural upbringing, religion, adjustments, and life events - as any of these factors could influence and potentially compound a client’s presenting concerns/issues.
