Dr. Wendell Scanterbury is a Marriage and Family Therapist who supports individuals, couples, and families facing various life and relationship setbacks such as strained partnerships, anxiety and depression, grief, phobias, chronic illness, and diminished self-image. His clinical development includes several years working with and caring for people living with cancer, grieving loss, vulnerable youth, and separated families. Dr. Scanterbury’s clinical approaches to therapy include Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy (ESFT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Prepare/Enrich, Gottman Method Couple’s Therapy, and biofeedback. As a Certified Grief Counseling Specialist, Dr. Scanterbury is deeply committed to supporting individuals and families experiencing living losses, as well as loss due to end-of-life.
Dr. Scanterbury holds a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy and is a Pre-Clinical Fellow in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), a member of the Christian Association for Psychological Studies (CAPS), and the Black Doctoral Network (BDN).
