Bridget Appleby, MA

Professional Counselor

Bridget Appleby is a Master’s level therapist working in the greater Phoenixville, PA and Wilmington, DE areas. Bridget earned her BA in Psychology and Women’s and Gender Studies at The College of New Jersey and her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Rowan University. She is a member of the American Counseling Association. She has experience working with primary survivors and secondary survivors of domestic violence, sexual trauma, and complex trauma.

Bridget holds the perspective that every client is their own expert and has their best interest at heart. She approaches therapy as a collaborative experience, where the therapist empowers the client to be the agent of change in their life. For survivors of trauma, Bridget believes self-exploration and empowerment through therapy can be the opportunity to become the best versions of themselves. Bridget utilizes modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, Gestalt therapy, relational therapy, narrative therapy, and interventions such as mindfulness and dialectical behavioral practices. Foundationally, Bridget utilizes client-centered principles: unconditional positive regard, genuineness, and warmth towards her clients.

Outside of office hours, Bridget spends her time tending to her plants, reading, and painting.
